We recognize that poverty eradication, changing unsustainable practices, promoting sustainable patterns of consumption and production are our overarching objectives. We also recognize that protecting and managing the natural resource base of economic and social development are essential requirements for sustainable development. We, therefore, reaffirm the need to promote sustained, inclusive and equitable economic growth to create greater opportunities for all. This will also contribute to reducing inequalities, raising basic standards of living, fostering equitable social development and inclusion, and promoting integrated and sustainable management of natural resources and ecosystems. These actions will support, inter alia, economic, social and human development while facilitating ecosystem conservation, regeneration and restoration and resilience in the face of new and emerging challenges.

The Centre, in collaboration with other FNU colleges will strive to enhance the knowledge and research capacity of the university's staff and students in working towards the future that we want for Fiji and the Pacific.
