Our Objectives
  • Facilitate a comprehensive understanding of climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies in the Pacific within courses and through applied and social science research.
  • Alleviate poverty and educate, promote and create awareness by promoting sustainable patterns of consumption and production and protecting and managing the natural resource base of economic and social development.
  • Develop and carryout relevant collaborative/participatory or supportive research projects to extend knowledge of appropriate subject areas.
  • Establish cooperative relationships including twinning arrangements as appropriate with regional and international think tanks and centers of excellence in education, climate change, renewable energy and technology.
  • Source funding support for the Centre both in Fiji and internationally, for financial and operational self-sufficiency and sustainability.
  • Facilitate face-to-face and e-learning and advancement of knowledge through teaching, research/publications, consultancy and administration.
