Our History

The Centre for Sustainable Technology and Development (CSTD) was recently established in early June, 2013, as an initiative under the Fiji National University’s Office of the Vice Chancellor. The Centre’s operational hub is at the School of Sciences (College of Engineering, Science and Technology), located at FNU’s Nabua Campus. The Centre will be mainly responsible for the administration, technical operation and timely implementation of scientific (applied and social science ) research, publications, consultancies and advancement of knowledge in climate change mitigation and community based adaptation, as well as sustainable technology, renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, fisheries and forestry and agroforestry systems. CSTD is also responsible for obtaining new funding to facilitate timely delivery of research and climate change (mitigation/adaptation) and technological approaches.
